Bank of America enhances its online payment system

By Kristen Lawrence

03/11/2010 - Bank of America Merrill Lynch recently announced that it will be offering Paymode-X, an online payment and invoicing system powered by Bottomline Technologies, as part of the bank's supply chain and treasury solutions service.

Paymode-X integrates electronic purchase order submission with invoicing and payment settlement on a single platform, enabling companies to control and predict their cash flow and reduce payment processing costs.

"These enhancements will give our clients an even more efficient online application to eliminate paper processing and drive a more efficient supply chain, allowing them to optimize working capital, reduce costs and strengthen controls," said Chris Bozek, a global trade and supply chain product executive at Bank of America.

The new enhancements will provide clients with more options for supplier invoice submission, including the ability to accept mail, fax and electronic invoices and convert purchase orders into invoices automatically. These features can be implemented separately or combined with Bank of America's Comprehensive Payables solution.

Bottomline acquired PayMode from Bank of America a year ago, marking the beginning of the two companies' strategic partnership.
