Canadian businesses may soon see a bit more action for their payment processing terminals as small businesses are poised to increase their spending, fueled by higher confidence and optimism levels, according to the STAPLES Canada Small Business National Quarterly Index released this week. The survey found that nearly half of Canadian small businesses - 45 percent - reported that the current economic conditions are "good" or "very good" in the second quarter of 2009, representing a 31 percent increase over the first quarter.
In addition, even more small business owners - 47 percent - believe that economic conditions will improve before the end of the year.
"We are pleased to know that small business owners continue to remain confident about their operations as well as the economy overall," said Steve Matyas, president of STAPLES Canada. "These survey findings are a good omen for the entire supply chain - there is faith in a 'rising tide to float all boats.'"
As a result, businesses at all stages of the supply chain may be able to expect more business in the coming months, making credit card processing capabilities more essential than ever.
