The PCI Security Standards Council, a global, open body which governs payment processing regulations and is responsible for the PCI DSS, announced Monday that it will hold an "Open Mic" webinar to discuss PCI SSC initiatives and hear feedback from those in the payment processing industry.The webinars - which will be held on Tuesday, December 8 at 3 p.m. ET and Wednesday, December 9 at 11 a.m. ET - will be hosted by PCI SSC general manager Bob Russo.
This is the first event for which organizations that are not participating members of the PCI SSC can register.
The webinar will include a discussion of the outcomes of the recent PCI SSC Community Meetings in Las Vegas, Nevada and Prague, Czech Republic; an update on the next steps of the lifecycle process, currently underway to revise and update the PCI DSS; a review of recently published PCI SSC resources; and a question-and-answer session with Bob Russo and other members of the council.
The PCI SSC has just entered the third stage of the five-stage, 24-month lifecycle process that will make updates and revisions to the PCI DSS. The third stage - which lasts until late April, 2010 - involves review the feedback that has been submitted by members of the payment processing industry.
