Visa seems to be pulling out all the stops with its promotional campaign for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, announcing Tuesday the launch of its newest contest - one Visa cardholder will win a trip to each of the Olympic Winter Games for life. The payment processing company will automatically enter Visa cardholders that use their card between January 1 to February 28 into the contest, titled the Visa Olympic Winter Games Trip for Life Sweepstakes.
Visa has been an official Olympic Games sponsor since 1986, and this year has implemented an ambitious marketing strategy through its Go World campaign. Other promotions include the release of three new Olympic-themed prepaid cards.
"For more than two decades Visa has used its relationship with the Olympic Games to bring fans closer to the Games and the athletes competing," said Antonio Lucio, chief marketing officer of Visa. "This promotion is a first for any Olympic partner and gives one winner the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the emotions and unforgettable moments that happen at every Olympic Winter Games."
Visa recently reported a 10 percent quarterly increase in its net operating revenue, reaching $1.9 billion in the fourth quarter.
