Talents of Pivotal Payments: Danielle Tewalt
August 3 2017 |
Danielle Tewalt is a Telesales Manager for the U.S. market and she’s a professional BMX racer. Danielle has been BMX racing for over a year now, and her story is inspirational. Danielle has four sons: Landon – 11, Carter – 10, Hurley – 9 and Parker – 7. When they said they wanted to try BMX, she thought “Why not join them?” Within a year she became #11 nationwide!
Among hundreds of American teams and athletes that have been BMX racing for years, Danielle has managed to do very well! She could have gotten into the top 10, but she broke her collarbone last November and had to go through a long rehabilitation process. Happily, she’s ok now, and she’s ready to go again. She’s been on a couple of teams before, but her current team, Alpha, is the best match for Danielle and her kids. Danielle competes in 31-35 age female groups.
One of the training challenges Danielle faces is the heat. She lives in Arizona and often enough they have to train outside when it’s 110 Fahrenheit (43 Celsius) out. Imagine putting on heavy protective gear, including a motorcycle type protection guard, in such heat and then going for a ride. It’s not easy, but it doesn’t stop Danielle and her sons from continuing to train on a regular basis. She is planning to compete again in November at the Grands, the largest race of the year. More about BMX racing.
